For us, trading is not a desk job defined by endless Excel spreadsheets. Every week, our containers are on the move: via ocean freight from overseas, by rail and truck from Eastern Europe and Central Asia, and by air freight for urgent shipments. From sourcing in the country of origin, through customs and quality control, to final delivery to the customer, we manage the entire supply chain.
Those who work at Saatenberg manage real commodity flows, negotiate with partners across multiple continents, and see the tangible impact of their work at the end of the day. Over 25,000 tons of raw materials annually, organized by a small team with fast decision-making processes.
Products that everyone knows
Seeds, grains, spices, nuts, dried fruits, herbs, and oils: Our raw materials are key ingredients in the food and pet food products found on supermarket shelves across Europe every day. A portion of these ingredients originates from our own agricultural projects in Sri Lanka, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan.
This means you are not dealing with anonymous items from an ERP system, but with physical goods you can touch, smell, and easily identify during your next purchase. It is precisely this hands-on quality that makes this trade so tangible.
